  5. My workhorse lens is broken

And it pisses me off to no end.

What kind of camera/lens combo do you mostly use?

PS. That’s really shitty. Maybe, you’ll get a new one for Christmas?

    Metric- Gimme Sympathy (Acoustic)

I came home from school early today because I’m sick. It’s nice to just lay in bed and listen to this.

I was going to post this, but I had the feeling someone already had.

    Love it.

… you like a post because of the last sentence in it. And then look back on the post and realize that it’s not a very happy post. You’ve already given the like… Do you take it back? Is there some way to show that you hope all works out well? Should there be a support button instead of a like button?

    I’m confused.

I was so confused when you liked my Muse concert post. I thought you were liking that I was going to bawl my eyes out, or liking that I a missing a good concert? Not cool Connor.

Haha I know. I fully stressed about it for a good two minutes. And by that time I assumed you would have already have seen the like. It was just a stressful situation all-around. I hope you end up getting to go though. I like them. Not nearly as much a John Mayer though :P

GET A MAC. If there is one thing I can tell you. Seriously, all the hype about them is TRUE. I have never had one virus or one incident of freezing. I have never lost anything unexplainably or dealt with slowness. (One click, whatever you want pops up in less than a second). iCal manages to save my live everyday (my calendar/day planner). iChat is amazing, just like you’d think. iPhoto is the sickest thing ever. Not to mention they just look fucking COOL. Basically I am still in love with my macbook and I got it in January of grade 12 as a getting-into-uni gift. Almost a year, and we’re still going strong… haha kidding (not). It’s really the best computer ever. It would be really reliable too if you are going away to uni - you won’t have to deal with problems or taking it in when you are on your own and your academic life depends on it, haha. Once you go mac you never go back. Any PC users who bash macs simply haven’t been subject to their awesomeness/are jealous. :)

PS - congratulations on getting early acceptance to Carleton! I wish you luck on all your other applications. If you got 12,000 there right off the bat (?!!??! holy shit) you will probably be hearing nothing but good news from other schools too!

I was on the Apple website pretty much drooling everywhere… I know it’s totally extravagant but I kind of want an iMac AND a Macbook. Both. And it’s true… I’ve actually only heard good things from people who actually own them. I was pretty much sold the moment I watched all of the tutorials on like iChat and Mac basics. They’re so cool!

And thanks… I’m really hoping to get accepted into Queen’s and Waterloo also, but I know the programs there are really really competitive. So finger’s crossed. But it’s nice to know that if all else goes wrong, I still have a place back home :)

  15. I have a philosophy test tomorrow morning.

And I am still on Tumblr.

However I can’t ever prove that the test (and the world around me even exists), so it really doesn’t matter. In fact, it’s difficult enough to prove that I exist. (I think, therefore I must exist).

We’re probably all brains in vats (as per the Matrix), so I don’t think I will study… What’s the point?

  17. Great Success.

Despite the fact that Giulia Briglio was not at school for the second day in a row, I was still able to accomplish something in Student Services. How, you may ask? Because I have an IEP, which means that Ms. Gauthier was also able to listen to my dilemmas and try and sort them out.

I am now in Sandy Warren’s second period Calculus class and am delighted. Because the alternative was almost too much too bear. Actually… I never even met the other teacher. But I heard things about her.

If only Sean Flynn had not decided that the grade nines were more important than teaching us calculus, none of this debacle would have occured. But it ended well because I am now in Sandman’s class for the third time this year.

  19. The hard copy of Carleton's offer came in the mail today.

Which is actually the first time I got to see it. Because the way their web-based thing is set up… is moronic. Anyways, back to the point. So Carleton has decided based purely on how awesome I am (jokes of course), that I have earned a spot in their sustainable engineering program. Which I like. However, it’s definitely not my top choice. Waterloo or Queen’s are definitely ahead of Carleton. Even though Carleton offered me a $12000 scholarship. Which I thought was a huge amount… for all of ten minutes until my fourteen year old brother laughed when I told him. He then said, “Seriously? That’s it?”, before walking off.

    a) Congrats Connor, that’s amazing and you should be really proud.
    b) I didn’t even know Queens had any programs like that, is it in the Eng faculty or in Arts and Sciences? If you come up to Queens for a tour, or just have general inquiries or something definitely let me know.

Haha thanks Jason. Queen’s doesn’t exactly have the same program but they have some comparible specializiations (it’s in the engineering faculty). I was also thinking of doing a dual degree if I went to Queens (Engineering and the something in the Sciences also). And I’m actually coming to Kingston on the 27th of December (pretty sure) because my brother has a soccer game, and while I would be there I was planning on visiting the campus. How’s everybody coping with exams over there?
